Our Curate, the Revd. Romey Poston, joined St Mary’s, Henley (with St Nicholas, Remenham) in July 2021 as deacon and was ordained priest in June 2022. She trained part time at Ripon College, Cuddesdon, while being placed at St Mark’s and All Saints Reading.
Born in Yorkshire, Romey attended Queen Margaret’s, an Anglican Woodard Foundation school, where she came to faith through the regular visits of Franciscan Friars from Alnmouth. Having originally studied and lectured in Fine Art and History of Art, she has spent most of her adult life overseas: as a foreign correspondent, as a director of overseas aid to Afghanistan, and finally as a diplomat’s wife. In that time, she has volunteered in churches and with charities in many countries, especially with children’s ministries and as a licensed lay minister, and latterly, back in the UK, was a befriender with Sue Ryder. Romey is widowed, with three grown children, and lives in nearby Rotherfield Greys with her black labrador, Inca. She still really enjoys visiting art exhibitions and travelling.
