Organ Restoration Fund
We are very fortunate at St Mary's to have a fine organ supporting our worship. After many years of faithful service, however, the instrument is becoming increasingly unreliable. The console (the keyboards) and the three reservoirs (which hold the air pumped into the pipes) all need replacing. The organ was last fully rebuilt in 1902, so it has survived remarkably well for over 100 years.
Now, however, we must raise a sum in the region of £75,000 to complete the necessary restorative work. We are happy to report that we already have over £45,000 in gifts, and there are plans for various concerts and other events which will help to swell this total.
If you would like to make a donation - however large or small - to this very worthy project, a cheque payable to St Mary's Parochial Church Council and sent to the Rector at the Parish Office would be very gratefully received. The address is on the "Contact Us" page of this site.
It would help if your donation could be made under the Gift Aid scheme. Please return the signed Gift Aid Declaration enclosed with your cheque if you are able to donate under this scheme. A Gift Aid Declaration can be found in the Parish Council section of this site.
We would be extremely thankful for any contribution you feel able to make.
