Welcome to St Mary's Church

Junior Church

St.Mary's offers a thriving Junior Church and Sunday School. We meet regularly on Sunday mornings during part of the Sung Eucharist, which starts at 9.30am.

There is a wide age range starting at about 3 years up to 17 years. A self-service crèche is also available for babies and toddlers.

Sunday mornings include a short lesson often based on the Liturgy for the day plus the opportunity to participate in 'graphics' of one sort or another. From time to time the youngsters also prepare and take part in the service. Occasional workshops are arranged to precede special festivals - for example on Good Friday 2008 in the Chantry House from 9am to 12 noon.

Parents are welcome to be present during Junior Church and Sunday School, which takes place in the Chantry House - an ancient building adjoining the Church.

Sometimes outings are arranged for the older children. Last year an outing to Windsor Theatre to see 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' was very popular. Meanwhile the younger children have enjoyed traditional tea parties.

New children are always welcome and many of the present Junior Church form part of the Church choir.
